The Standard Party

This is a kind of boring name for one of our most popular party choices but we call it that because it is the best mix of services for most parties. This party is adaptable to cater for 8 kids up to 40 kids and it can be designed to suit 2 year olds and up to 12 year olds. It can go for 1.5 hours or up to 3 hours depending on your party requirements.

Something for everyone in the Gecko Gang Standard Party!

The reason this party is popular is because it has a bit of everything. First the kids get into the mood with our fantastic face painting (or you can now choose to have glitter tattoos instead). Our staff are very creative and can usually come up with  ideas for just about any face paint request. Of course the most popular choices are fairies, butterflies, puppies and tigers but the choices extend way beyond those. We can paint all ages - some of the littlies only want some flowers on their cheek or hand and sometimes the big kids (AKA adults) want to join in as well - we can accommodate any variation.

Games, games and more games!

Once the kids are all painted then the active part of the party begins with the games. The games utilised are drama type games. They can be adapted to different sized yards, garages, pergolas and even lounge rooms (in the event of poor weather). There are a myriad of options with the staff generally choosing their favourites based on the age of the kids but they are also happy to fit in any requests. If you have a pinata or a pass the parcel they can run those games for you too.

Balloons anyone?

The final part of the party is used for balloon modelling. This is a great way to wind the proceedings up with every child receiving a balloon model of their choice. The designs on offer are just about as varied as the faces on offer. Our party leaders can make all sorts of domestic animals, jungle animals, flowers, hats, vehicles and more! The kids will then happily go home having had their fill of fun and activity!

Some common questions:

Can we do the games first?

With most of our parties we generally offer the face painting (or glitter tattoos) first because this is the activity that potentially takes the longest time and we don't know how many kids will want to actually join in on the day. There is sometimes 1 or 2 kids at each party who are not in the mood or don't like it and then if some adults want to join in we need to allow for that too. So we do the face painting first so we know how much of the party time is left. The remaining time is used for the party games leaving about 15 minutes at the end for the balloon modelling.

Can we have different types of games included?

Generally the basic party games are enough to keep the kids happy but sometimes you may want to change things around a bit. So we have on offer some different games activities that you can add to the standard party if you want. If you are out at a park then the novelty races and/or parachute games might be a good addition. If you have a great rumpus room or garage then you might want to consider adding the music & dance games. These games activities would then be included during the allocated games time during the party. There is a small hire fee associated with any of these add ons but they can add that extra dimension.

When should we offer the party food or cake?

 If you are planning a party and want to know when to offer the food or cake etc we generally suggest to have some finger food while the face painting is happening and then bring out the cake just after the balloon modelling. We can also fit into any other schedule if it suits your event better. Just let us know and we will plan the activities to fit your event.

What time of the day should I book the party for?

The middle of the day between 11 & 2 is the most popular time but the time you book is really up to you and your scedule. If the kids are little we usually suggest having us there early in the day before the kids start to tire out and then they can go home for an afternoon nap if required. If the kids are school aged then they can generally adapt to anytime during the day so it will ultimately depend on whether you want to offer a full on meal, at lunch time, or if you would rather just offer a morning or afternoon tea. Finally, if it is an adult party where the kids are being entertained then we can go right up until 10pm if required.

Over the warmer months, daylight savings - October to March - we offer an reduced price for parties booked for a 10.30am or earlier start  or a 2.30 - 5pm start. If you want to book any evening party then there is a 20% surcharge for any booking that goes past 7pm as we pay our staff extra to stay out late.
